Obsession

Not too long ago, Eric and I showed Maddie the wonder of a fort. Now, she can't get enough of them! She wants to build and play in forts all the time. It's become kind of an obsession of hers - forts all the time.

Cleaning and Getting Clean

Maddie loves taking baths. She always has a lot of fun and we sometimes have a hard time getting her out.

...though she thinks all brushes are for her hair!

Visiting AZ

After my dad left, I took Maddie to visit my sister and niece in Arizona. Eric was out of town and I thought the warm weather would be a nice change of pace. Well, it's definitely been an interesting time! The weather has been great and it's always nice to see my sister and her family. On the second day we were here, however, Maddie started acting funny. So, we took her to urgent care and found out that she had a double ear infection, with one ear being terribly infected! We were supposed to leave the next day, but the doctor advised against flying if we could help it because there was a chance the pressure change would rupture Maddie's ear drum. Needless to say, I called the airline and changed our ticket, so we're still in AZ and leaving this evening. Through all of this, however, Maddie has been in surprisingly good spirits and still wanting to play with her cousin.

Papa Dad's Visit

My dad came to town to spend some time with Maddie. While here, he made chili, read stories to Maddie, bought her her first portable DVD player (for an upcoming trip), and took us to the children's museum. In all, it's been a great visit and Maddie has really enjoyed the time with Papa.

Helpful

Maddie has really gotten in to helping. She runs to get her stool to help load and unload the dishwasher. It's very sweet!

Maddie has started playing pretend with her dolls. She loves to put them in the stroller, change their diapers, put socks on them, and share her milk with them.

Maddie has gotten really good at using silverware. It's great and meal times are much neater!
