Tis the season!

We were very busy this past weekend with numerous holiday events. We went to a birthday party, complete with face painting, a Panto play production of Peter Pan, tree trimming, and holiday dinner with friends. By Sunday night, we were all very tired, but thankful for all our friends and the time we get to spend with them!

O Christmas Tree

We bought our Christmas tree today and started decorating it. Otis was a bit confused when we moved his lego table and put a chair in the basement, but really came around when he saw the tree. Although we've lost our Christmas lights, the kids both loved putting some ornaments and the star on the tree. We're all excited for a busy and festive holiday season and can't wait to spread our holiday cheer!

Otis turns 2

Last week Otis turned two and it caught me a bit by surprise - time has surely started to move too fast! As our sweet boy grows, more and more of his personality develops and it's so fun to watch. He's independent, easy going, funny, and inquisitive. I never could have dreamed or hoped for what he's brought to our family. He's growing and changing every day and we can't wait for the rest of the journey!

To celebrate his big day, we had a drum circle birthday party with all of his friends, followed by a visit from Papa Dad. I hope we were able to make Otis feel as special on his birthday as we feel to have him as part of our family.

Fall Fun

As the weather turns colder and wetter and the days get shorter, we're spending less time outside, thereby needing more inside activities to keep us entertained. We've started having more tea party/picnics, building forts, and have even let Maddie have her first sleepover!

Arboretum in Fall

This weekend was a beautiful fall weekend and we tried to spend as much time outside as we could. In addition to planting fall carrots, we went to the arboretum. All of the leaves changing colors were beautiful and it was great to be outside enjoying it all!

Pumpkin Carving

This Saturday was quite windy and rainy, so we decided to stay home and carve our pumpkins. Maddie and Otis had a ton of fun digging out the guts and drawing faces on their pumpkins for Eric to carve. In all, it was a really cute day!

Fox Hollow Farm

We thought we were going to a pumpkin patch this past weekend, but ended up with a fun farm adventure instead. The kids pet a pig, a small pony, and a mini goat. We also rode on the train and swung from a rope swing in the hay barn. It was a really fun day!
